Hello, beautiful and amazing people of the internet! If you are reading this and wondering why my blog is so empty (and if you’re like me, reading this with a cup of coffee in your hand and a rather affectionate kitten laying on your keyboard), welcome back to Malawi and Magnolias. As some of you may know, I recently went through a gigantic change in my life and decided to commit myself to Starbucks, allowing the company to take me to the next big thing, which in this case is the growing city of Lafayette, Louisiana. The journey here has been…interesting, to say the least, but I don’t regret it one bit. Now that everything is calming down a bit and I’ve settled into my new life, I decided my dormant blog should follow suit. Much like my life, Malawi and Magnolias is starting fresh, a clean slate in an otherwise hectic existence.
If you’ve somehow found yourself here for the first time, welcome! My name is Caleb and what you are about to witness is the metaphorical (and highly caffeinated) Phoenix rise from the ashes of the digital graveyard. On this blog, you’ll see the constant thoughts of a writer, struggling to balance a new life in an unforgiving city. The road to self-actualization is always a bumpy one, but I’m determine to drive down it, all while pouring the perfect cup of coffee!
So, I hope you guys are ready, because I’m about to go on a lot of adventures. Between work, friendships, an amazing Goddaughter, a caffeine addiction, writer’s block, and (maybe?) a relationship or two, I’m going to attempt to navigate through life without crashing too hard. But hey, at least I’ll have my coffee!
-xoxo Caleb J.
