~A Study In Friendship~

Individual, Barista, Friend

Every now and again we meet someone whom we can call a true friend, a person we can always rely on. Sometimes, if we are really lucky, that friend can also be our coworker. Today I’m going to talk about a girl that, through Starbucks, I’ve come to love with al of my heart.

I first met Christa Guillot as a customer at the Starbucks a few months before I became a barista there myself. Originally from Bourg, Christa moved to the Thibodaux area with her boyfriend, Steve, and began her journey at the Starbucks there.

I began my journey with Starbucks because I needed a job. At the time, I was unemployed and I had no idea what I was getting myself into. I wasn’t a frequent customer; Starbucks was a special occasion place for me, so I had no idea what to expect. And now here I am, a year and a half down the road, and I’ve experienced and learned so much. – Christa Guillot

And learn she did. It wasn’t long before Christa became a Barista Trainer, teaching those newbie partners of ours how to be the best Baristas they can be. When a mutual friend of ours, Jade, began working at our store, Christa immediately took Jade under her wing, both professionally and personally, teaching her the ways of the bean. It is no wonder that Christa and Steve hope to one day open a cafe of their own; they have both proven they know their stuff.

“Christa is a genuine and beautiful soul, and the hardest worker I know. While in training, she made everything look effortless. I strive to be as good as her, not only as a barista but as a person, too.” – Jade Voisin

Coffee And Friendship Go Well Togethercafe-breuxnet

Christa has this unique trait about her that draws people in. She’s warm, fun, and caring, traits that one could also use to describe the coffee she brews on the daily in her own
personal at-home cafe. Just like in a real cafe, Christa and Steve did a superb job creating a welcoming environment, often having people over for a fresh, homemade cup of coffee or a latte. I am so grateful that someone like Christa is in my life, now, and I look forward to many more years of amazing friendship… and coffee!
